At Earth Squared, Fair Trade is why we started and continues to be at the heart of what we do. But we are also doing our best to reduce our impact on the planet including the following new initiatives.
B Corp Certification
We were delighted to become a B Corporation in 2023 - a certification which means we balance purpose and profit and are legally obliged to consider the impact of our decisions on the environment as well as our customers, workers and community. As part of the certification, our processes and supply chain have been assessed by B Corp which has been a great way of learning our strengths and weaknesses. Biodegradable/Compostable Packaging
Our new ranges will arrive with you in entirely biodegradable, compostable, recyclable and marine friendly Eco Garment Bags. Designed so that products reach you in perfect condition, these bags use Hydropol TM to biodegrade entirely after use - they look like plastic and protect like plastic but with zero end of life problems. Recycled Fabrics
We are always looking for ways to reduce our environmental impact, including the use of recycled fabrics wherever possible. As a result, we are pleased to say that ALL of our handbags and purses feature fully recycled lining. And many of our collections extensively use recycled fabrics, including the Voyage Range and our brand new tweeds and appliques (a big and very positive step which we have been working on for some time). And we are especially proud of the new Weave Range, made entirely from ocean waste plastic, to produce handbags that are soft, durable and super practical.
Giving Back
We support a number of initiatives including tree planting and plastic collection in partnership with GetGreenspark - all with the aim of reducing the impact of our carbon footprint. We will be adding new functionality to our checkout processes shortly so you too can choose to participate by adding credits to your basket when shopping to boost these initiatives.
